Our Peakhurst Centre has been in operation since 2005. Over the years, we’ve garnered recognition for providing a high-quality learning experience that stands out. We have built strong relationships with families and the community. Our commitment to education is a cornerstone, and we take pride in offering programs that goes above and beyond.
Our centre has been recently renovated with a state of the art outdoor space. Embracing the Montessori education approach conceptualised by Dr Maria Montessori, we designed every area to encompass this curriculum. This helps to foster various capabilities such as self-confidence and self-discipline. Our appropriate-aged rooms help children develop knowledge and skills that provide the foundation of a lifelong love for learning.
Our core Montessori curriculum covers areas such as practical life skills, sensory development, literacy and numeracy, science, geography and art. These areas provide the best foundation as students prepare for their transition to school. To support our Montessori learning, we also follow the EYLF to enhance and to provide a holistic learning experience for each child.
Children ages three-six are provided with an extensive school readiness program. The preschool room is fitted with an interactive whiteboard, school based activities and computers to assist with preparation for school.
As part of the Montessori philosophy, our centre is passionate about sustainability and this is embedded in our program. We encourage nature play, growing and caring for the vegetable garden, collecting eggs from the chickens, learning about recycling and caring for the world around us.
The combination of our curriculum, facilities and passionate team set us apart from our competitors. We provide a holistic approach to your child’s education by combining the Montessori curriculum with the Early Years Learning Framework 2.0 (EYLF) 2.0 and National quality standards. We also provide nature play and a sustainability program that includes environmentally focused playgrounds, chickens, vegetable gardens and compost programs.
Our extracurricular activities vary at each centre subject to children’s interests but could include Happy Feet, Soccer Joeys, language classes, dance classes and Munch and Move. All our centres provide healthy nutritious meals, prepared onsite by our centre cooks. We also take pride in winning the 2018 St George Local Business Awards and being a finalist in 2019.
