Our newest early learning centre for children aged 0–3 years at Peakhurst is now complete.
This purpose-built centre has been thoughtfully designed to encourage and inspire the learning and development of children from birth to three years.
At St George Montessori, we offer a tailored program for children aged 0–3 years, featuring a wide variety of learning experiences grounded in the Montessori approach. Our infant and toddler environment focuses on fostering a strong sense of trust by providing a safe, nurturing, and home-like atmosphere.
Our programs are crafted to enhance social skills, emotional growth, and physical coordination, preparing children for future academic challenges. Our classroom is tailored to meet children's physical needs, with appropriately sized furnishings and opportunities for motor skill development. Montessori materials and equipment are specifically designed to help children develop coordination, fostering independence and self-esteem. We focus on developing expressive and comprehensive language skills, motor and sensory abilities, and everyday tasks that lead to greater independence.
The centre opens with breakfast and free play. In the morning, children engage in group time and the Montessori program, including art and craft activities. Morning tea is followed by music and art activities, then outdoor play. Lunch is served, and after lunch, it's rest time. In the afternoon, there's tea, followed by group projects or outdoor play. The day ends with an evening snack before pick-up and closing. Nappies are changed as needed and checked regularly throughout the day. Bottle feeding and rest/nap times follow each child's individual schedule.
