Meet our Engadine Centre Manager, Alysha.

Alysha heads up our passionate team at Engadine. She is highly experienced, passionate about Early Education and loves the community feel of our Engadine Centre.

Tell us about your career background:

I have been in the childcare industry for over 8 years, I started studying my certificate III in 2010 not long after graduating from High School. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and found my interest in childcare. I soon completed my Diploma in Children Services in 2011 and have worked fulltime in childcare since.

I have had many roles in the industry. I started as an Assistant Educator and worked my way to a Lead Educator/room leader. After being in the industry for 5 years I was promoted to an Assistant Centre Manager, during my time as an assistant centre Manager, I learnt how to lead and develop a great team of experienced and driven educators, and contribute to the foundations of building on a successful childcare centre. Shortly after being an Assistant Centre Manager I was promoted to a Centre Manager where I have the wonderful opportunity to lead and develop a great team of staff.

I have worked with children of all ages including before and after school ages children, I have a passion and interest in inclusion support within the industry and wish to do additional training on this area of focus. I am currently studying my Bachelor of Education and Masters.

What do you love about your role?

My role has opened up many learning opportunities, I have been lucky enough to meet so many amazing people within my role, I am able to form a great team and create some great friendships, I have amazing support from my management team each day, I am in a wonderful position that has high impact of all children’s development, I have the opportunity to help shape little minds and provide an environment that is enriched with learning opportunities for all children to learn and develop as they get ready and grow into their next chapter of their lives.
